Tetsuya ogawa

Tetsuya (born October 3, 1969, in osaka, japan. stylized as TETSUYA) is the leader and bassist of the Japanese rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel. He also does backup vocals and has composed many of the band's songs, including 'Link', 'READY STEADY GO', 'finale', 'Driver's High', "Stay Away," and 'Pieces'. In the band, his name is "tetsu" (All in lower case).

Since 2001, he had solo work under the name TETSU69 (Number 69 is his birth year). On November 26, 2006, he changed his solo name to tetsu, and on December 1, 2009, he changed his stage name to TETSUYA.

In 2007, Tetsuya and 22-year-old actress Ayana Sakai got married.

In February 1991, Tetsuya, recruited vocalist Hyde along with guitarist Hiro and drummer Pero, and formed a band under the name of L'Arc-en-Ciel.

Tetsuya is renowned for his melodic style of bass playing. Many of L'Arc~en~Ciel's songs involve Tetsuya playing counter melodies with ken (guitarist of L'Arc~en~Ciel) while still holding a groove with the drums. Tetsuya's composing can be seen as more 'poppish' as compared to ken's who has a heavier and sometimes bluesy approach. He frequently uses slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs in his playing.

Tetsuya plays with a pick most of the time, but uses fingerstyle occasionally when the song calls for it, such as in 'winter fall' and 'jojoushi'. In a few songs Tetsuya can be heard using the slap style of playing such as in the Laruku song 'THE NEPENTHES' and 'twinkle, twinkle'. Tetsuya has also used distortion such as in the song 'Stay Away'. Tetsuya has also been known to play briefly with a banana, "Mukimpo-kun", (which he whips to the audience afterwards) prior to the beginning of a song (usually 'Stay Away') in some concerts.

Tetsuya primarily plays a 5 string bass since L'Arc~en~Ciel's 15th anniversary, but is known to occasionally use 6 strings in L'Arc~en~Ciel songs such as Neo Universe, Time Goes on, Get out from the Shell where Tetsuya plays lead melody; in Perfect Blue he used a 6 string baritone guitar (an electric guitar between the range of a bass and standard electric guitar). Tetsuya also performs a Guitar / Bass Double Neck on the song Trust.

Even though Tetsuya is endorsed by ESP Guitars and has several models, he has used his Zon bass for most of his recording works. Tetsuya is an avid collector of basses and guitars. He owns over 120 basses and more than 20 guitars.

tetsuya is a childhood friend of ken, they often play together.because their house close together.

Yukihiro

Yukihiro was born on November 24, 1968 in Chiba, near Tokyo. His father is a company worker, and his mother is a kimono-wearing instructor. He has a younger sister.

Yukihiro has stated that he had as ordinary a childhood as any other Japanese kid, never questioning his destined path of going to school, graduating to a university, and ultimately becoming a white-collar salaryman. But he loved music, both Japanese and American, from Heavy metal to Pop music. He was also a good short-track athlete in junior high school. However, he was kicked out from his athletics club for his sabotaging of daily training.

When he entered high school, he started to play the drums and immediately decided to be a professional rock drummer. Once he made the decision, he told his parents that he was leaving school because it was of no use to him. His parents forbade this. Thus, he continued his education while devoting himself mostly to rock music.

During his university days (he left The Chiba University of Commerce), he joined Zi:Kill, one of the rising Japanese rock groups at that time.

Zi:Kill signed a recording contract with Extasy Records in 1989. However, they turned into a quarrel during the first album recording outside Japan. Finally, yukihiro was fired there. After that, he formed the band named Optic Nerve with guitarist Shin Murohime.

When it was announced that the former L'Arc drummer Sakura quit the band in 1997, tetsu, the leader of the band, asked yukihiro to help record the new single, via their common friends. During that time, they had a good chemistry between them. His unique rhythm track was accepted in the song. When their first come-back single "Niji" was released and did the comeback concert "Reincarnation in Tokyo Dome", yukihiro was still a support member. It is in 1998 when the band announced yukihiro as official member with the new single "winter fall", followed by the album "HEART". After joining L'Arc~en~Ciel (being the seventh member in doing so since the band started), his name was changed to lowercase letters, "yukihiro," to match the rest of the members' names (his name had been published "YUKIHIRO" in capital letters until Die In Cries).

Despite of some arguments from Sakura's fans, yukihiro quickly got acclimatized to L'Arc.

acid android is a solo project formed by Yukihiro, the drummer of the popular Japanese rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel. Like L'Arc~en~Ciel, they are signed onto Sony Music Japan's Ki/oon Records division. acid android releases, as with the other members solo projects, take place in between L'Arc~en~Ciel albums releases when the members are on hiatus. To date acid android has released one album, one single, an EP and a live DVD. The band, in contrast to L'Arc~en~Ciel uses a harder, faster sound, more stage-lighting and American-styled mechanics to further energize their concerts.

Hyde

Hyde is vocalist of "
L'Arc~en~Ciel and VAMPS.".born in wakayama ,japan, January 29,1969
He joined L'Arc~en~Ciel in 1991 recruited by Tetsuya after leaving the band Jerusalem's Rod where he was the guitarist. In addition to being the lead singer and main lyricist of L'Arc~en~Ciel. Hyde keeps much of his personal life secret. On December 25, 2000 Hyde married singer/model/actress/news reporter Megumi Oishi. Oishi gave birth to their first child, a son, on November 11, 2003.

After L'Arc~en~Ciel released the single, "Spirit dreams inside" in 2000, the band went on an unofficial hiatus as each of the members began work on solo careers. This was Hyde's debut as a solo artist. In October 2001, Hyde released his first solo single, "Evergreen." After two more singles, "Angel's Tale" and "Shallow Sleep," Hyde released his first solo album, Roentgen, on March 27, 2002. An overseas edition featuring English lyrics was released in July the same year. Hyde's next two singles, "Hello" and "Horizon," were released June and November 2003 respectively, and second solo album, 666, was released on December 3, 2003. "Horizon" was used as the ending theme in Ryuhei Kitamura's film, Sky High.

In 2003, Hyde starred alongside Gackt in the Japanese film Moon Child. In a duet as part of the project, Hyde and Gackt sang "Orenji no taiyou", and when sang live, Hyde could not be there because he was on a music tour. The song was also released on Gackt's fourth full-length album, Crescent. In December 2003, Hyde's song "Shining Over You" from his 666 album was used as the commercial song for Namco's Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean.

In 2004, Hyde took on the role of the guitarist Adam in the movie Kagen no tsuki(Last Quarter), a movie based on the manga by Ai Yazawa. The movie's theme song, "The Cape of Storms", came from Roentgen.

In the spring of 2008, Hyde rejoined with guitarist K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust), who had previously worked with him on his Faith album, to form the rock unit VAMPS on Hyde's own record label VAMPROSE. Donning red contact lenses and fake vampire teeth, the two released "Love Addict," their first single under their new moniker, and began a 46-date tour, playing mostly music from Hyde's previous albums.

Following two more single releases, VAMPS' self-titled debut album dropped in May 2009. The album covers a range of rock territory, from metal to grunge to punk to pop.

The band launched a ten-date tour in the United States, performing in New York, Hartford, Columbia, MD, Baltimore, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Los Angeles. Their appearances in Hartford and Columbia were part of the Vans Warped Tour, making them the only Japanese act on the lineup. Their final performance in the States, taking place at the historic Wiltern Theatre in L.A., was recorded and is set for a DVD release.

The band now has planned a Japanese arena tour, which will be their first. They are then set to perform on the USS Missouri in Hawaii in early September as a conclusion to the VAMPS LIVE 2009 Tour.

After the band's successful live tour in the U.S.A. they have now been awarded in the category "Billboard Japan Ranking International 2009" in recognition of their success overseas and in appreciation for their efforts to go on a world tour in 2010. The award had been handed over on January 31 at the first "Billboard Japan Music Award"

Kitamura ken

K
itamura ken, born in osaka on November 28,1968.ken is guitarist of Japanese band "L'ARC~EN~CIEL" and vocalist of "sons of all pussys(S.O.A.P)". Two months before his graduation in 1992, Ken left the Nagoya Institute of Technology, where he was an architect major, to join L'Arc~en~Ciel at the request of his childhood friend Tetsuya Ogawa bassist of L'arc en ciel. In 2002 Ken's own band, S.O.A.P, became active as a result of a break in L'Arc~en~Ciel's activities, with ex-L'Arc~en~Ciel member Yasunori Sakurazawa (Sakura) as the drummer, and Ein as the bassist (a half Japanese/German model who appears in a few L'Arc PVs). Each member contributed songs based on themes; Ken with love, Ein with Desire, and Sakura with his experiences in jail, and together they released three albums; Grace, Gimme A Guitar, High! and one single, Paradise. All S.O.A.P. activities have ceased since 2004.

Ken is currently an endorser for Fernandes Guitars and is usually seen playing these guitars live with L'Arc~en~Ciel. However he tends to mod his models instead of using them stock. For instance, in the past he used to use Van Zandt pick-ups heavily in his own personal guitars and has since moved on to Kinman pick-ups (this change having now been reflected in one of his more recent FERNANDES musician models).

However he has also used many different guitars in and out of L'Arc~en~Ciel, including Gibson, Fender, and Steinberger models.
